On ÖBB trains, you can bring along luggage for free as long as it is stored in the luggage racks above or below your seat or in the areas designated for hand luggage. The maximum dimensions of the pieces of luggage are 90 cm x 60 cm x 40 cm. If the dimensions specified are exceeded, the following items of luggage can also be carried free of charge:

• Snowboards and skis
• Hiking and skiing poles
• Wheelchairs
• Strollers
• Wind, string, or plucked instruments

You may only bring items that are permitted on trains under Austrian law and do not endanger you, other passengers, or ÖBB trains and buses. Loaded firearms and dangerous, explosive, flammable, inflammatory, toxic, radioactive, prohibited, corrosive, and infectious substances and objects, as well as other dangerous goods, are prohibited under the Austrian Act on the Transport of Dangerous Goods. Mopeds and scooters are not allowed on motorail trains.
