Arriving to Hamburg by train is a very easy and comfortable experience. The main train station in Hamburg is Hauptbahnhof and is served by both Intercity and Regional express trains. 

The station is in the St. Georg area, close to the Alster lake and the Binnenalster. Upon arrival, there are plenty of public transportation options, such as the U-bahn metro lines or the S-bahn (fast regional trains).
